Luxembourg’s UPC Protocol comes into force
The law needed to approve Luxembourg’s Protocol on Privileges and Immunities comes into force on the 18th of March.
For the law to become effective it had to officially be published in the journal Mémorial, which happened on the 13th of March. The Protocol establishes national legislation that provides the Unified Patent Court and its staff with the necessary priviliges and immunities.
The next, and final, step in the ratification of the UPC Agreement would be for Luxembourg to deposit the instruments of approval with the EU Council. These steps are required by all four countries hosting a division of the Unified Patent Court.
Where does every country stand when it comes to ratification?
